Storks on Standby was set up by my mother and myself in 2006 and began life over a mother / daughter chat discussing how difficult things in general had been following the birth of my first child, who was born 2 months early. I could not have been any more unprepared and hadn't bought a single thing. All I remember of the weeks and months following the birth was writing list after list of things we needed. My husband would then be sent out on numerous shopping expeditions to try and get hold of everything.

When I did go online to try and get what we needed I found myself jumping chaotically from one website to another in a vain bid to try and buy all the essentials. It didn't help that as a first time mum I didn't really even know what I should be buying.

3 Years later (now that things have calmed down a bit) the idea behind Storks on Standby materialised. The key objectives of starting this website are to:

• Help parents easily and quickly find the essential baby products they need for those first few years

• Provide parents and relatives with the opportunity to buy new and exciting products, including bright, cheerful and unique designs that can\t be found in larger retail outlets

• Have a strong focus on safety products – this is probably one area that caused me additional sleepless nights

• Provide you the customer with an excellent customer experience based on quality and reliability

• Help all family members find suitable and attractive gifts for babies and toddlers
